It is an objective at Audiology Consultants of Southwest Florida to assure that your aids stay in optimal condition — that is why we offer free maintenance and service checks to all our private pay patients. Our purpose is to assure that you are always hearing as well as possible. That is why we take the time to teach you and work with you to ensure your aids are always at peak performance.
Hearing Aid Maintenance Tips
Seeking prompt hearing aid repair is another important step in the maintenance process. Some parts of a hearing aid can be replaced at home if you are particularly handy. These include the dome, tube, and wax guards. If you happen to discover a malfunction or a broken part of your hearing aids during routine maintenance that you cannot repair yourself, however, then it’s important to seek professional help as quickly as possible. That’s especially true if you see a crack in the case or holes in the faceplate.

The Hearing Aid Repair Process
Rest assured that any make or model of hearing aid, even if it wasn’t fitted or supplied by Audiology Consultants of Southwest Florida, can be serviced. First, the hearing aid is checked and cleaned, and we determine if there are parts that can be serviced in the office. If not, we will send your hearing aids out for repair and typically offer you a loaner to use in the meantime.
As a child I knew that I had trouble hearing and was advised that nothing could be done for me due to scarring on the middle ear. Two years ago, much to my amazement you stated that a special hearing aid “ReSound Air” could restore my hearing!
Now I don’t have to strain when listening to people speak. I can hear birds, footsteps, automobiles, and so much more.
